How It Works

We Watch It. You Save Money.

Most installers hand you a third-party app and leave. We built our own platform so we can act on problems immediately — no waiting for you to notice something is wrong.

📡
Live Data, Always
Your inverter reports live generation, battery state, and consumption data every few minutes. We store it, analyse it, and compare it against expected performance.
🔔
Automatic Fault Detection
If your system goes offline, underperforms, or shows unusual readings, our system raises an alert automatically — typically within minutes of the fault occurring.
🔧
Engineer Dispatched
On any plan above Monitor we diagnose it remotely first, then book an engineer if one is needed — no phone calls, no waiting on hold. Many faults turn out to be fixable remotely, and then nobody has to visit at all.

The Platform Behind Your Support

MagHomes Monitor is our internal operations platform — every system we install is live in here. Our team sees your system status in real time, alongside every other site we manage.

Support Plans

Choose Your Level of Cover

Every plan builds on the same base — each tier adds to the one below it. The more of your home runs on the system, the more there is to keep in tune.

Every tier includes everything in the one before it. Repairs — parts and labour — are quoted separately on all plans; see what your plan covers. Cancel or switch any time with 30 days’ notice.

A support plan is not a repair warranty

We want this unambiguous, because it is where maintenance plans in this industry most often mislead people. Your plan buys monitoring, diagnosis and a guaranteed response. It does not make repairs free. If something needs replacing you get a quote first, and you decide.

✓ Included in your plan

  • 24/7 monitoring and automatic fault detection
  • Remote diagnosis — often resolves it with no visit at all
  • A guaranteed on-site response window
  • Scheduled service visit (Care, Whole Home and Commercial)
  • Firmware, settings and performance optimisation
  • We make your warranty claim for you — chasing the manufacturer is our job, not yours

✗ Quoted separately

  • Replacement parts not covered by warranty
  • Labour to carry out the repair itself
  • Scaffolding or access equipment where the roof needs it
  • Damage from storms, pests, or someone else’s work
  • Faults in equipment we did not install

How this usually plays out. The parts themselves are normally covered by the manufacturer for a long time — panels 25–30 years, inverters 5–12, batteries around 10. What those warranties almost never cover is the labour to find the fault, remove the unit and fit the replacement. That labour is the real cost of a failure, which is why we quote it rather than pretend it is free. What the plan removes is the part most people find worst: proving the fault, filing the claim, and chasing the manufacturer for months.

Commercial Pricing

What would an SLA cost for your site?

A 100 kWp roof is five times the exposure of a 20 kWp one, so it shouldn't pay the same. Our commercial SLA is £3 per installed kWp per month, minimum £120 — no bands, no negotiation theatre. It works out at roughly a quarter of what the system saves you, at every size.

50 kWp

Saving estimate assumes ~800 kWh/kWp, 80% used on site, and a 25p commercial unit rate. Your proposal is built from your actual half-hourly data.

Common Questions

Monitoring FAQs

What inverters and systems does MagHomes Monitor work with?
Our platform integrates with all inverter brands we install — including Fox ESS, Growatt, SolarEdge, SolaX, and Sungrow. Data is pulled directly from the manufacturer's API, so there's no additional hardware required.
What happens when a fault is detected?
On Monitor you get an email alert and can call us to arrange work. On Care, Whole Home and Commercial we review the fault ourselves, try to resolve it remotely, and book an engineer if a visit is needed — on site within 48 working hours on Care, and 24 on Whole Home and Commercial. You are told what the fault is, what it will take to fix, and what it will cost before anyone attends.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Plans are monthly rolling contracts — cancel anytime with 30 days' notice. Your system continues to work without a subscription; you simply lose the monitoring and support features.
Is monitoring included in the installation price?
Setup is included — your system is connected to MagHomes Monitor as part of the installation process. The monthly subscription starts after your first month free.
What response time do I actually get?
On Whole Home and Commercial, a qualified engineer is on site within 24 working hours of a critical fault being confirmed. On Care it is 48 working hours. Working hours are Mon–Fri, 8am–6pm; a fault raised on Friday evening starts its clock at 8am Monday. We would rather quote a window we hit every time than an impressive one we miss — and in practice a large share of faults are diagnosed and cleared remotely on the same day, without anyone attending at all.
